Britt Benson, LPC

About Me
Britt Benson, LPC, is committed to authentically and ethically serving individuals from diverse backgrounds who are struggling with mental health concerns, substance use disorder, and other chronic illness. Britt provides counseling to adults and couples, and has extensive experience with addiction and co-occurring disorders in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Britt’s practice is based in New Orleans but offers teletherapy to clients across Louisiana.
Her existential approach to counseling provides a non-judgmental space to explore the uncertainty, tension, and paradox inherent to being human. Britt flexibly and intentionally incorporates narrative, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) & Internal Family Systems (IFS) techniques and skills development to help her clients reach their self-defined goals. Britt uses an intersectional framework to understand and collaboratively address challenges and strengths unique to each client.
Originally hailing from Seattle, Washington, Britt enjoys travel, hiking, running, reading, and spending time with her elderly rescue greyhound, Luanne, who is a ridiculous and constant reminder of the restorative power of laughter.
